Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a silver gray hexagon shaped embroidered item, point upwards, edged with a 1/8inch (.32 cm) light blue border a light blue hexagon surmounted by a silver gray inverted isosceles triangle bearing three yellow lightning bolts, one vertical between two slanted lightning bolts in a V form, overall issuing from lower right a maroon demi-dragon with silver gray eye and nostril. The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm)in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.



Symbolism
Oriental blue and silver gray representing loyalty and determination are the colors of the Military Intelligence branch. Yellow signifies excellence. The sides of each blue triangle created by the pile coupled with those of the bordering blue hexagon reflect the numerical designation of the Brigade. Lightning flashes collectively denoting speed and agility represent the principal intelligence functions performed by the unit. They are also reminiscent of the crossed swords in the Forces Command insignia. The dragon alludes to the units support of the XVIII Airborne Corps. The pile resembles the shape ofthe letter V in reference to the Brigades motto of Victoria Per Intelligentia, meaning Victory Through Intelligence

Description
On a shield shaped Gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Sable, a pair of lightning flashes in saltire Or surmounted by a sword vertical point upwards of the second piercing a rose of the last detailed Celeste. Attached below the shield a light blue scroll inscribed VICTORIA PER INTELLIGENTIA in Gold letters.

Symbolism
The heraldic rose is a traditional symbol of Military Intelligence and secrecy. The lightning flashes are indicative of communication the ability to be anywhere at any time. The sword serves as the backbone to the other elements and underlines the tactical nature of the Brigade.
